Questions, answered.

What is Stormee?

Stormee is a fierce, non-alcoholic ginger concentrate. Pour it over ice, add sparkling water and you've got a full-flavoured adult drink.

Is Stormee alcoholic?

No. Stormee is a non-alcoholic ginger concentrate. If you want to add tequila, go for it.

How do I drink it?

Shake well before use. Pour 20 mL of Stormee over plenty of ice, add around 200 mL of sparkling or still water, give it a stir and you're done. More Stormee for more fire. More water if you want it longer.

Why do I need to shake it?

Stormee is made with real ginger and natural ingredients, so some settling is completely natural. The lighter sediment you may see is naturally occurring ginger starch from the fresh ginger. Give it a good shake before you pour to bring everything back together.

How many drinks are in a bottle?

Around 25 drinks, based on a 20 mL serve.

Is Stormee sweet?

No. Stormee is deliberately tart, not sweet. There's New Zealand beechwood honey in there to round things out, but this isn't a sweet ginger beer.

What does Stormee taste like?

Ginger leads. Tartness follows. Then comes a clean, lingering warmth. It's fierce, sharp and full of flavour. Not syrupy. Not sweet.

What's in it?

New Zealand Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother, real ginger juice, New Zealand beechwood honey, ground ginger, Himalayan pink salt, natural ginger flavour, cayenne and kawakawa. Plus a tiny amount of water to brew the kawakawa leaves.

That’s it.

Why is it called Stormee?

Stormee was born between my kitchen and my garden in Cass Bay. It's my happy place, especially when a southerly comes ripping up Lyttelton Harbour and you know there's a storm brewing.

I love a good storm. It slaps you around the face, clears the air and makes you feel alive.

Stormee felt right. So it stuck.

Does Stormee need to be refrigerated?

Once opened, yes. Keep it refrigerated and enjoy within four weeks.

What about the packaging?

We've kept it simple. One glass bottle makes around 25 drinks, and the bottle and kraft cardboard packaging are recyclable.

Remove the label before recycling the bottle, and check your local recycling options for the cap.

And use every last drop. Stormee is great in a salad dressing, marinade or glaze too.

Drink it. Cook with it. Recycle the rest.

Can I make it stronger or lighter?

Absolutely. 1:10 is our starting point, not a rule. More Stormee for more fire. More water if you want it longer.

Can I mix Stormee with alcohol?

Of course. Stormee was made for when you're not drinking, but it doesn't have rules. Tequila is particularly good.

Is Stormee made in New Zealand?

Yes. Stormee is made in Canterbury, New Zealand.

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver throughout New Zealand. Standard shipping is $10 for one bottle and free when you buy two or more. Rural delivery is $15 for one bottle, or a $5 rural surcharge when you buy two or more.
